Our eye doctors have an alternative! The Optomap Daytona captures a digital image of virtually your entire retina without dilation. You just have to smile pretty for the picture.
Both dilation and Optomap allow our eye doctors to get a a view of your entire retina, which is important to rule out disease or weak areas that can lead to retinal detachments. Disclaimer: sometimes dilation may be medically necessary, and our eye doctors will advise accordingly.
"Don't Puff me!"
Ok, ok, we won’t. There are alternatives to “the puff,”
and we have them!
No need to stress. At both our Chanhassen and St. Louis Park eye clinics, we have a digital phoropter, which is a fancy way of saying we can find your glasses prescription more quickly and accurately than the traditional “1 or 2.” BTW, it’s ok if they look the same!
Which is better, 1 or 2? "I DON'T KNOW!"
This you can’t get out of. Our eye doctors will do a very thorough exam of the surface of your eye using a special microscope that allows us to properly diagnose dry eye, pink eye, and clues to other systemic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease.
