Wink Family Eye Care provides comprehensive eye exams tailored to every patient's needs. Our eye doctors use the latest and most comfortable technology available, including an alternative to dilation.
THE WINK EXAM
The Wink Exam
"I don't want my eyes dilated!"
Our eye doctors have an alternative! The Optomap Daytona captures a digital image of virtually your entire retina without dilation. You just have to smile pretty for the picture.
Both dilation and Optomap allow our eye doctors to get a a view of your entire retina, which is important to rule out disease or weak areas that can lead to retinal detachments. Disclaimer: sometimes dilation may be medically necessary, and our eye doctors will advise accordingly.
"Don't Puff me!"
Ok, ok, we won’t. There are alternatives to “the puff,”
and we have them!
No need to stress. At both our Chanhassen and St. Louis Park eye clinics, we have a digital phoropter, which is a fancy way of saying we can find your glasses prescription more quickly and accurately than the traditional “1 or 2.” BTW, it’s ok if they look the same!
Which is better, 1 or 2? "I DON'T KNOW!"
This you can’t get out of. Our eye doctors will do a very thorough exam of the surface of your eye using a special microscope that allows us to properly diagnose dry eye, pink eye, and clues to other systemic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease.
"Ahh, the light is too bright!"
Our eye doctors strive to keep your eyes as healthy as possible so you maintain the best vision throughout your life. Using a thorough eye exam comprised of the most advanced microscopic and imaging techniques, we routinely check for dry eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other signs of ocular infection or inflammation that can indicate other diseases in the body.
Our family eye doctors believe an eye exam should be comfortable for the whole family without ruining your entire day. Our clinics in St. Louis Park and Chanhassen also serve excellent, complimentary coffee!
Combining the latest computerized technology with a careful examination, our eye doctors assess each patient’s visual system. Then, with your input, our doctors will recommend ways to correct your vision through glasses, contacts, ortho-keratology, or laser vision correction.
